I'm working on a new series of paintings. I'm liking where they're going so far. I've been using more organic forms and some new patterns found in images of microscopic cells. Here's a glimpse of one and I'll post more as they come.
I'd have to say that I'm filled with quite a little bit of glee myself after finding out that two of my paintings THAI SPICE I & II are being used on the set of the TV show GLEE. My paintings are hanging in the character Rachel's bedroom. I don't know how many episodes they've appeared in, but I'm certainly a convert to the show now. I can't wait to see when they appear next.
I've got many new pieces showing at Evergreen Gallery this month. The opening is this Friday the 16th from 6-9. I'd love to see you there if you can make it.
I haven't done any landscapes for a while so it's been refreshing to paint some for the upcoming show at Evergreen. Here's a picture of a little diptych that I just finished.
Anyone who knows me, and has come to spend time with me as I paint, knows that my studio is a cramped space, overflowing with used canvases and panels, tubes full of posters and containers of gesso and matte medium, not an ideal space to sit down to have a conversation, or to stay much longer than a few minutes to watch me finish a layer of stenciling. So I took my studio to the web, a place where my friends could sit down without feeling snubbed by the fact that I can't offer a chair for them to sit on (the one in my studio being covered by gardening books and fabric catalogs).
My life is full, overflowing. I'm a painter, a writer, a mother, a procrastinator and a daydreamer. Maybe there isn't time to fit it all into one life, but I'll keep trying. DELIVER ME (Spring 2014, Bloomsbury Spark), PERFECTED (Summer 2014, Entangled),
