I've been having fun lately drawing on the pages of an old book of poetry that I found a few years ago at a thrift store. I already love old books, but this is a new take on an old obsession. Of course, I hope that other people like them too.
Anyone who knows me, and has come to spend time with me as I paint, knows that my studio is a cramped space, overflowing with used canvases and panels, tubes full of posters and containers of gesso and matte medium, not an ideal space to sit down to have a conversation, or to stay much longer than a few minutes to watch me finish a layer of stenciling. So I took my studio to the web, a place where my friends could sit down without feeling snubbed by the fact that I can't offer a chair for them to sit on (the one in my studio being covered by gardening books and fabric catalogs).
My life is full, overflowing. I'm a painter, a writer, a mother, a procrastinator and a daydreamer. Maybe there isn't time to fit it all into one life, but I'll keep trying. DELIVER ME (Spring 2014, Bloomsbury Spark), PERFECTED (Summer 2014, Entangled),

Your work is beautiful and so creative!
I've love the mix of words and art, especially on old paper. Very cool.
