A good friend of mine from high school got married this past weekend and this is the painting that I gave her for her wedding present. I'm always a little embarrassed to give a piece of art as a gift because it's a little presumptuous of me to assume that they'll want it, but I like knowing that my friends have a little piece of me in their homes, so they get it whether they like it or not.

i love the color palette...the glow of early morning light and the first bird welcoming the day with song. the patterns on the bird are delightful.

I love the light colored flower images on the bird because they look like light - so you have the feeling that the figure is being illuminated, that the sunlight is streaming in.
